guitar hanger or guitar stand?
do you prefer your guitar on a guitar stand or hang it on the wall with a guitar hanger? and why?
I prefer wall hangers for a number of reasons. First, I've got a pointer/lab who gets a little too excited about everything from pedestrians walking by to ceiling fans, so she's prone to knocking over everything that doesn't weigh four times as much as she does. And wall hangers are great because the weight of the guitar bodies keeps the necks really straight and the intonation perfect. Stands certainly do no damage in that department, but since I own lots of guitars and some don't get played very often, hanging them is more practical to me. And when I used stands, guests wouldn't think twice about helping themselves to my guitars without asking, which annoyed me. I'm happy to let my friends play my guitars, but they're more inclined to ask when they see them hanging on the walls, looking a little more imposing than they did on stands.
