How can I hang a mirror on top of another mirror?
Is spray adhesive clear? How strong is it?
We have a mirror in our bathroom that was attached using something that leaked through and we have a big "x" stain basically in our mirror (from the previous owners). There is tile all around the mirror and we would like to just put a new mirror on top of the old yucky "x" stained mirror and we are wondering how we can attach it? Thanks!!
The "x" stain is from adhesive..Some adhesives can break down the reflector surface and cause a pattern to develop through the mirror.. Especially resins. When the correct adhesive is used this will not occur. A silicone bead around the parameter of your mirror will be sufficient to attach the new mirror in place without causing damage. Run a few lines of silicone across the back face but not very thick so as to avoid air gaps behind. Tape the mirror in place using duct tape or masking tape. Leave in place for two days then remove.. As long as the mirror behind is fixed strongly this system will be fine.. Other option is to get a hammer and break the old mirror out and start fresh.. That would be my choice..
