Boss ML-2 Metal Core Pedal?
I recently purchased one Boss ML-2 Metal Core distortion pedal. The tonal capacities are good, however the artificial harmonics do not sound properly, with no real squeal - it sounds about the same as doing an artificial harmonic with clean settings, even with high turned up fully and gain at max. How can I get the squeal bands like Coheed and Cambria, Pantera and Metallica Can achieve (Preferably without buying anything)? Also, I play guitar through an old bass amp, the sound is fine but there are no gain settings.
The reason you are not getting the squeal is because of that bass amp. The speaker is made to produce good bass sound but no highs especially, the harmonics. If you use that pedal in a guitar amp, and you have the right technique for harmonics, the guitar will scream anywhere .
