What is the actual size of a 3/4 acoustic guitar and a full size acoustic guitar?
Guitars are measured by their "scale length", which is the length of the vibrating portion of the strings. A "full size" guitar has a scale length anywhere between 22" and 26". With that, it's simple enough to figure out that a 3/4 scale guitar would have a scale length roughly between 16" and 20".
The total size of the guitar can vary quite dramatically depending on the style. A "dreadnought" or "jumbo" style guitar is considerably larger than "concert" style or something more modern with a cutaway.
If you're in the market for a first guitar, I advise you against buying on the internet. Buying something like a guitar without ever seeing or playing it is risky, and you should really only do it if you know exactly what you're looking for. Go to a guitar store and hold a few. See what feels good in your hands.
