Should I "renovate" my acoustic drums to sell them or should I sell them as is?
I have a Groove Percussion drum kit that is about 3 years old now, and I plan to sell it for some extra cash to go towards a new kit. The thing that I'm worried about is that it's condition isn't so tip-top anymore. The toms are a gray to black fade, while the bass drum is just bare wood. With the condition it's in, I personally don't know if I can make very much money off of that. While I could slap on a new paint job, make all pretty and nice again, I'm also not sure if that will help the value. I just need some expert/honest opinions to help me get as much money as I can out of these old drums. Thx a bunch people.
If I were you I would fix them up a bit so that you can make a little more, as long as they are playable and look nice...that is all that most ppl are looking for when buying a used kit. Do they sound good when they are played? Do they look descent? Those are the two main questions you should be considering if you are looking to sell them! Hope that helps!
