DObro Versus National Guitars?
I am thinking about buying a resophonic steel slide guitar is seems to me that there are two marques that tend to be the best. DoBro and national.
Now Dobro is now a cheap brnad made in China and National seem to be very expensive.
If I were to buy an old guitar say 8 years old is there any difference between the maks?
Ar eth new nationals really worth all that money... From a guy that doesn't know a lot and does not want to buy a lemon....
Are you looking for a metal body? Look up Phillips.. Ron Phillips lives here in the S.F. Bay Area and makes resophonic steel guitars. I have several dobro's during the 70's. made by the original company,but they were changing at that time.. I have a square neck,but I seldom play it. I've played a few of Ron's.. Very nice guy.. Not sure if he's still in the business.. Good luck.. Hey, Just checked.. Look up Phillips Metal Guitars. Beautiful instruments and they sound great too.
