Drop Guitar Tone

My guitar doesn't have enough of a bassy tone to it...?
I have a Fender Strat Standard. I put the damn thing all the way to drop b tuning with a .13 gauge string. Still doesn't seem to have the tone I want. Someone mentioned a Les Paul, but they're quite expensive. I was wondering if it was possible to get a better, deeper tone if I put in Seymour Duncan pickups. It seems like the cheaper way out.
I bought the fender because I originally was going for a classic rock/hendrix sound and then kinda got into heavier sounds. I have a fender amp 25r and i have my fender set up for the thick strings and drop tuning

A large portion of your problem is very likely your amp, but since you didn;t say anything about that, I'll address your specific Q:
Standard Strats are generally made of alder... a non "bassy" wood. You need a guitar made from mahogany if you want a deeper tone. Different pickups produce differeing tones, but just because you put SD's into it isn't going to automatically make it "bassy". Make sure you have the gain/distortion/overdrive you want, and then get something like this.... http://www.guitarcenter.com/MXR-M-108-Ten-Band-Graphic-EQ-102163383-i1124444.gc
I think if you do that, and maybe change it to a HSS or HSH config, you'll probably fix the thinness that you're hearing.
One more important thing: Dont leave that Strat in drop B without getting a truss adjustment. You leave it like that and you're going to have a concave neck.
Why did you buy a Strat if you're trying to play stuff like that anyway?
Edit: Well, like I thought.... some of your problem is your amp and some of your problem is your guitar. How long have you been playing? My advice is to save your money for an upgrade on your amp, replace the bridge humbucker with one that is well known for metal usage, get a pedal or two, upgrade your guitar last. Just a note: learn how to play very well in standard tuning before you use alternate ones, and dont forget what I said about the truss... dont leave that Strat in the dropped tuning without an adjustment or you're going to screw up that neck. That's why pros have multiple guitars and thats why they make baritone guitars.
