Can you run the ISP G-String Decimator noise reduction pedal through a Fender Blues Deville effects loop?
The reason I ask is that my amp makes a bit of noise without anything running into it. Also, this gets worse when I plug my Casino (single coils) in. I'm looking for something to fix this problem. I realize that the amp part of the problem may be from dying tubes, but the guitar is still noisy. Also, I use a bunch of different effects like tremolo, delay, and reverb that have decay and Im wondering if this pedal will screw up the decay/lower volume sounds of my effects. I only want this pedal if it can go post preamp to eliminate amp noise as well, but I don't want to fork out $220 just to test that. I need to know first.
I have one, and I put it in front of the amp, so it quiets down the guitar and any noise coming from anything. It quiets down the amp a little bit too. I've never ran the G-string through the effects loop, cuz I have the older version of the decimator that goes in the front. It may be enough to quiet everything down to run it through the front, but any noise reducer may affect your decay from the reverb and delay. To battle that, I run a Boss compressor/sustainer too... but I run everything in the front of the amp, because my effects loop is SUPER noisy. Also, I run a lot of gain, more than what your deville can produce, and the ISP decimator was designed for high gain amplification.
Write the company an email and ask them about it. They are pretty nice and should get back to you quickly... at least they did a few years ago when I was inquiring about the decimator.
Last, there's no shame in used products, as this thing is built pretty well. I love this pedal so much, that I bought 2 of them. The second one I got off craiglist from a guy who was selling it cheap, so I had to buy it, and just in case mine were to ever go out on me... it's been about 4 years now since I've had it.
