best guitar effects pedal?
i have a Peavey Raptor EXP and a peavey amp that came with the guitar. I don't have a lot of money but really would like an effects pedal.
I mainly play Rock/Punk/Metal been playing guitar for 10 years but only really at intermediate playing level.
What's the best effects pedal that would be good for me, that's preferably under £90.
I would go with BOSS all the way, they're nearly indestructible. If you don't have a distortion pedal, get a DS-1 for $30-$40. If the DS-1 doesn't give you enough "crunch" check out the Metal Zone. You can adjust the tone more fully, and it's great for pinch harmonics, screaming solos, heavy power chords, or those fast metal riffs. Delay and Tremolo are nice effects, but they can set you back $100 apiece, and you won't be using them a lot in your style of music. Phase Shifter, while a little more expensive, can be used in solos and chunky power chord riffs, but it works best if you have distortion underneath it as well.
