A question for guitarists: Is it possible to make an electric guitar sound like a lapsteel?
I'm looking for that very high, violin-like twang of a sound, found in many if not most country songs. Is it 90% of the time emitting from a lapsteel, or are they using teles with effects added on? If so, which effects give that sound?
I would recommend a slide and some compression.Depending on how you tune,it is possible to create the chord structures.Reverb is always good on steel.Oh,and a volume pedal to create the soft attack you like to hear from a lapsteel.Also there are several products that simulate different amp models and tones.You can find these anywhere.I really like line 6 products.
