Hey,
My nephew, who is eleven, has a birthday coming up and an interest in playing the bass. My sister would never buy him one because she knows he'll probably lose interest in a couple months, which is probably reasonable, but it probably never hurt anybody to have some instruments laying around. My question is, can anyone recommend a decent, affordable short-scale electric bass? I'm sure he won't be too concerned with tone or anything quite yet. Thanks alot!

I've played one before and it's pretty decent for a short scale bass. It's only 30", so he should have no trouble getting his hands around it.
