i play mostly hard rock, punk rock, alternative rock, and some heavy metal (metallica)
First and foremost, please ignore the spammer "Ethan" here. This is an individual with a myriad of profiles who gets constantly reported for his cut-and-paste "answers" and affiliate links. His uneducated reply will soon be removed any way.
As for your answer... None of these amps are really good. A better Marshall (tube amp) is very, very good - not these ones here. The Spider is decent for heavy stuff - the kind of things you're playing. The clean sounds are not anything to die for, in my book at least.
The thing with digital amps like the Line 6 is that there's a lot of bells and whistles - stuff that potentially may go wrong. That said, some of the higher gain stuff on them sounds good. And they are extremely versatile with the expression pedals hooked up.
Personally, I tend to prefer having the effects separate from the amp. That way, if anything goes wrong (and believe me, they will) then you can bypass stuff and continue playing. If a digital amp goes zombie in a live situation, then you're basically hosed and looking extremely lost ... unless you're very good at air guitar 
I tend to have a basic amp and even an extra, small multi effects as back up - ready to switch if/when things die on me.
You will absolutely need the larger amp here if you intend to play live. Even that one is on the skinny side if you're playing with a full band (unless you have a very good PA and monitors).
