Do you think my guitar is too big for me?
I'm 16, and I've been playing the guitar for about six months. I have a Yamaha acoustic guitar that I got in a set. I think it was called a "Gigmaker" set; it came with the guitar, a tuner, some extra strings, and stuff like that. My guitar is really large, and my teacher commented that it had a really wide neck compared to her Gibson. I find that my guitar is kind of cumbersome/annoying to play, because the guitar itself is so big, and the neck is apparently wide. It's not necessarily harder, just annoying, especially with barre chords.

Do you think my guitar is too big for me? I don't enjoy playing it a lot, because I'm not a very big person and my guitar just doesn't match. (I'm 5' 4" and somewhat small-boned.)
A wider neck means it's probably a classical guitar - it is if it has nylon strings. This is just something you have to get used to or get a smaller steel string. Electric guitars are also far easier to play.
As for your barre chords problem, there are lots of little modifications you can make to your technique that will make them a LOT easier (but you'll still need to put all the effort in to master them).
Some tips are : (1) Use your thumb to support the neck behind the barre. You do this by aligning it with the middle of the neck and point towards the nut (so that it's directly behind the 3rd and 4th strings. (2) Roll your index finger a bit on its side towards the nut so that you use a firmer surface area to press the strings.
