My friend tracks me through my cellphone. advice?
I few days ago my friend told me she was trying to reach me bc i wouldn't answer my cellphone, She had a legit concern. My mom was trying to call me and she called my friend bc she knows that i only answer when my friend calls. But since we had a big fight a few days ago, i also didn't answer when my friend called. I basically ignored my friend and turned my cell off. Then when i did finally pick up my friend asked where i was. I lied to her and she said i was lying bc she apparently tracks me via cell phone. My first thought was ur pathetic and i was also shell shocked. I was creepied out and on top of that i felt i had no sense of privacy what so ever. I just wanted to know what u guys think, what ur thoughts are, and if u have some advice. Thanks.
I'll just go ahead and clear this up. I was a manager for AT&T for a while, and before that I worked customer support for AT&T, and before that I worked customer support for Verizon. They aren't tracking you by your cell phone- the option IS there, but for starters they'd need the account holder's last four SSI number, secondly when they do add the feature it will send a security TXT to your phone to let you know you're now being tracked. If you've not gotten that txt, and the account holder hasn't given your friend the last four of their social, then you cannot be tracked by them. The phones are E911 compatible, but even the police don't get tracking info unless permission is given or they have a warrant.
As far as your friend, they're lying, and if you're okay with that, then I suppose I don't see the problem. Break the tie with them is possibly the best solution if it really bothers you.
