can i add humbucker covers to a open coil les paul?
so im going to buy a EPIPHONE LES PAUL TRADITIONAL PRO that has: open zebra coils
Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucker
Epiphone ProBucker-3 huhumbucker
and was wondering if it would effecte the sound Quality
cuz i really like the look of coverd humbuckers
and for extra points how would i go about installing them??
oh and is it a good guitar?

Yes, you can. The pickup covers have to match the size of the pickup and the pickup mounting ring. If they came stock, then any Gibson pickup covers will match. Just watch what you get because pickups come in Fender, Gibson and F Space sizes. You can get either plastic or metal covers.
Pickup covers are available at a few sites below, but I have seen the greatest variety on Ebay in terms of colors, custom covers, designs, etc. If you get one on Ebay, email the seller first if it doesn't say what size pickup its designed to cover.
Installation of a pickup cover involves removing or loosening the strings (a great deal). Remove the pickups mounting ring. Remove the pickup from the mounting ring. Place the cover over the pickup, then put the mounting ring over the cover (so its like a sandwich). Reinstall the screws and springs for the pickup. Then place the pickup/cover/mounting ring back on the body and reinstall the mounting ring. You don't need to take the wires off. In some cases, you will need to pop open the electronics compartment to feed some slack so you can take the pickups out without detaching the wires. Also, take both pickups out at the same time, but do the neck pickup first. When you take the pickup out, you will need to give it slack, and the wires typically run through the same cavity that the bridge pickup is in. You will need to pull the wires somewhat tight again on reinstallation.
