i have an acoustic, and i always seem to (at least try to) play rock songs,
so my question is
1. what is the difference between those sharp pointy thunder looking electric guitars and those round ones?
2. is it easier to (picking, fingering and sound clarity wise) play on the electric than the acoustic?
because when i play on the acoustic, its really hard to play them (fingering the notes)
question 1: the shape of the electric is relatively unimportant. Oh, if you had a really whacko guitar body then it might get tedious, but in general you can shred on a standard body, a flying V, or that damned androgynous symbol that Prince uses--depending on the quality of other components and the set-up. If you have a primo guitar--a strat, a high-end Gibson, etc.--and you have the neck adjusted perfectly, then you're in the best shape, equipment-wise.
question 2: electric is easier. The strings are much lighter, so it requires far less force to fret--barre chords are utterly easy, and bending the strings is far less strenuous.
Now, picking and sound clarity might be a little tougher--some players need to feel a lot of resistance when picking, and some players have a harder time fretting the thin strings precisely. Sound clarity on an electric will also depend on your amp and a lot on your pick-ups--so get good electronics!
