Mitsumi USB Floppy Drive/Card Reader Combo?
Mitsumi FA404M Floppy drive/Card reader combo
If the USB 2 controller is enabled in device manager, the floppy works, the card reader does not. Neither will any other USB device.
If I simply disable the 2.0 controller. All works fine.
All devices work ok with the 2.0 controller enabled when this device is not plugged in.
According the manual, it is USB 2.0 compliant. Everything I've read about it says that pin 10 on the header is needed for shielding in a USB 2.0 device to prevent EMI due to the high speeds. The plug for this drive does not use this pin.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm ready to say it's bad as this has never worked in a 2.0 environment.
I have an email sent off to Mitsumi. I can't find anything on google or otherwise with a similar issue.
Board is at the latest BIOS.
Drivers installed - no change.
try getting the driver from mitsumi it should help to reload it.
