My bridge is broken on my Godin Art&Lutherie acoustic guitar.?
I've attached a link to a picture to show the problem.
How would I go about fixing this? I'd rather do it myself, but if it's something better left to a professional, then I'll do it. I'm just trying to get the repair done properly without breaking bank.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
The bridge is cracked where the string saddle is. Yahoo wont let me attach a link for a picture to tinypic, but if you go to tinypic and search "Art&Lutherie guitar godin" you should be able to find my picture. I'm not sure what else to do. I want it fixed but I dont know anything about repairing guitars.
I couldn't find any link about your guitar. If the bridge is cracked, better leave it to a pro to fix it. Why I am telling you this is because, you have to find out why it cracked in the first place.
Did the harmony table expand or is one of the braces broken inside underneath the brdige etc... No use fixing it unless a Luthier finds out what caused it. Once that problem is found, then he will remove the old bridge by heating it and using a special spatule so he won't crack the harmony table while removing it.
In any case, the total ost should be between $45 to 75 dollars MAX. The godin guitar is well made and I personally no Richard the founder of Godin. We use to work in the music business together LOL.
