Wiring a resistor in series with a Piezo Tweeter?
I'd like to add a resistor in series with a piezo tweeter. Should the install point for the resistor be "before" the positive terminal of the piezo speaker or "after" the negative terminal of the piezo speaker?
Please excuse the terms used above. I'm an audio enthusiast, but as you can see, I have only a beginning understanding of circuitry. I understand that protrons and electrons flow in both directions in a circuit, but current flow is generally considered from the positive terminal to the negative terminal, is that right?
In any case, where should I wire in this resistor? It's going into a two-way speaker box with 8 Ohm resistance. I also believe that I'll be wiring the two speakers in series because I believe the amp wont see the piezo as a load only as a capacitor.
