Should I buy a fender strat?...?
I saw this guitar today. I have 94 dollars and I can put the guitar on layaway until I can pay off the rest. Is it worth the money? Afterward if I could I wanted to try and switch the pick guard and knobs (also the pickups) over to black. I love the guitar but I don't know if its worth the investment. I have a B.C. Rich Avenge right now. Do you think the stratocaster is worth it? Here's a picture.

How much is it? If you're looking for the biggest bang-for the-buck, I would probably go with a Made in Korea instrument. You can get a dang good guitar for $250 these days, and a great one for $700. Any more than that, make sure you know what you're paying for. Try the Rondo website (where you'll find makes like Agile, etc.) or eBay. Most of the lower-end Fenders are crap, and most of the higher-end Fenders are over priced. You can always change the pickguard, knobs, and pickup covers later if you want. Be aware that on a Strat, everything is mounted to the pickguard, so be careful when you remove it that you don't rip out the wiring.
