Can I change steel strings to nylon strings?
I have an Encore full size acoustic and although everyone says steel strings sound better etc etc I personally dislike them.. Anyway so I've purchased some nylon strings, can I just swap them with the steel ones?
There's no reason why you can't put nylon strings on a steel strung guitar. (you definitely can't do the reverse!) but it may not sound quite as you would expect. It is possible to buy nylon strings with ball ends, which would help ( I use them on my lute-guitar). Otherwise, a large enough knot at the end of the string, pushed into the hole and the bridge pin pushed on top of it worked for me.
