Strap button won't stay screwed in place.?
I have a Gibson Les Paul classic, and the strap buttons screw above the toggle switch will not screw into the wood, it can be pushed in and pulled out with ease. I was thinking I should either coat the screw in wood/super glue and put it in the hole, or fill the hole with liquid nail, wait for it to dry, and then screw into that. It that correct, or should I do something else.?
I also tried a larger screw, that didn't work
This is actually a fairly common problem. This is because the screw is going into "end grain":

None of the methods you describe will work, particularly the Liquid Nails method. If you took this guitar to a luthier, what he / she would do is drill out the hole, glue in a "deck plug", drill a pilot hole and put the screw back in. The finish might have to be touched up a little if the deck plug is large enough to be seen under the strap. That's the right way to do it. However using a longer screw might work but would eventually work it's way out as the side grain is not very good at holding screws.
