Classic Rock
The Beatles- Paul McCartney. John was cooler, but Paul's songs are absolutely perfect
The Rolling Stones- Mick Jagger. Great performer and underrated singer. His singing on Exile on Main St. is amazing
The Who- Pete Townshend. Main Songwriter and one of my favorite players
The Doors- Ray Manzarek. Never been much of a Jim Morrison fan but love Manzarek's keyboard playing
Led Zeppelin- Jimmy Page. My favorite guitarist of all time.
Velvet Underground. Lou Reed. John Cale is great as well, but Lou was the real backbone of the group.
Punk
The Ramones- Joey Ramone. Love the singing
The Sex Pistols- Johnny Rotten. Makes them half decent to me, don't like the rest of the band much at all. His other band Public Image Limited is great.
The Clash- Joe Strummer. Gave them an urgency and power.
New Wave
Duran Duran- I don't know his name but I love their bass player
The Cure- Robert Smith. Wrote the songs, Lead guitarist, and lead vocalist.
Metal
Iron Maiden- Steve Harris. Wrote the songs and plays thundering bass.
Motorhead- Lemmy. He's living breathing rock n roll.
Pantera- Dimebag. Heaviest guitar sound that still retains character
