Break in period for a new saddle?
I rode 42 miles yesterday on my road bike with my new Terry damselfly saddle. I am definately sore in a couple places....the seat bone area & a bit of front tenderness. Is this normal or a sign this may not be the right seat for me?
I did have it fit at bike shop prior to ride.
The Terry damselfly is a fairly narrow women's saddle. This is more a performance saddle so a sacrifice on comfort should be expected. A good fit up should put it close to the right position.Maybe a little fine tuning will fix the problem.
It is the shape of your pelvic bone that determines the right shape of saddle. For me it is comfort first, you can't perform if your sore. Only you can really tell if it is supporting properly.
How much narrower is it compared with your last saddle?
