acoustic starter packs? help much appreciated?
my mum is slowly considering letting me start lessons. firstly, she wants me to at least know how to tune it, where and what the notes are etc. So i was wondering where the best place is to buy an acoustic starter pack in the uk that comes with spare strings, a pick, gig bag, tuner strap, dvd's and books?

I googled Guitar Stores UK and came up with http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/ and http://www.guitarvillage.co.uk/. And honestly you don't have to tune it by ear that takes years of playing believe it or not just buy a tuner. Oh and those books and dvd's they're terrible I would recommend finding your nearest guitar or music store and asking them where the best and nearest teacher is they usually refer you to a great teacher. You don't need spare strings strings only break if you play hours on end or if you tune them wrong. You can get a gig bag if you want but you don't really need it, its all about preference your gonna want a stand tho otherwise its always falling over and you have no where to put it. I recommend getting medium size picks, there are thin, medium, and heavy thickness picks. They all sound different and have different thickness to them. The thin ones are very flimsy and the thick ones are heavier and have more effect on the strings while you play. If you get lessons the teacher will teach you all of the chords that your mom wants you to learn. Good luck! Hope this helps!
