Pick gauges?
I have been playing guitar for about a month now and i started out with jim dunlop 0.73 picks.
The thing is that almost immediately i changed to a 1.00 mm big stubby pick and i loved it , then i bought a 3.00 mm stubby pick and its one of my favorite pick , then i showed it to a friend of mine and he said that its a bass pick ( which i know its not because ive seen bass picks and they are kinda like hard foam )
My question is , should i use the picks i like or should i limit myself to a certain gauge?
keep in mind that the thinest pick gauge i use is 0.83 , so i wont go thinner than that
Not all bass picks are "hard foam", or felt which is more likely what you're thinking of. You should use whatever pick feels best for you and works best for the material you're playing. Be careful with the heavier gauge picks on guitar strings, though...you're much more likely to break your treble strings with heavy picks. And tell your friend to mind his own business.
