How do I get the rear bottom seat of my 99 subaru wagon to flip over?
I got this wagon used, and I want to be able to fold the rear seats down to level. Right now I can only get the backs of the seats folded over and it makes a ramp instead of a nice floor. In the manual it says to pull a loop on the bottom seat cushion to pull them forward and then to fold the seat backs down, but the loop isn't in place and I can feel a catch under there, but I can not get it loose. Any help is appreciated.
The strap is there, its in the middle, you'll have to reach behind the seat and fish it out. It can be hard to find if the last person to pull the seat out didn't position it before re-installing. If not, the spring loaded latch pulls toward toward the rear of the vehicle, there's tabs on the floor it locks into. I had one that the strap was smashed into the lock mech, really had to horse it to get 'er apart.
