I realize this is vague, but I am having a hard time finding an estimate on the internet. There are about 10 windows and two large sliding glass doors that I'm looking to replace.
I just replaced 8 windows for about $1400.00, including installation. Go to the lumberyard or home repair place and compare windows and ask if they can recommend a contractor to install them.
The high energy saving ones are worth the price. You have to decide if you want double or single hung and you can save money by getting the double hung (Open from the top or bottom) in only a few rooms where necessary. Single hung are fine for the kitchen and bath.
You also have to choose metal or vinyl screen, metal is better and often cheaper. ( I have cats with claws))
Go to the closest lumber yard and then 3-4 others. The good ones will want to come to your home and measure the windows themselves to get the exact size and give you a written estimate. The contractor installing them should also look for termite damage and dry rot so it can be repaired at the same time.
