Those are both low end guitars. Each is at the lower portion of their respecitve brands. And frankly, are about the same quality wise.
The Ibanez GAX30 is part of the Gio series. I really do not like the Gio series guitars. They are too cheaply built for my tastes. I think the RG series is much better quality wise. This guitar is sort of a SG clone. This guitar has a 24 3/4 inch scale. So its frets will be closer together than the Squier which uses the Fender 25 1/2 inch scale. It has 2 humbucking pickups. Also note that the GAX30 is a fixed bridge guitar. If you want a whammy bar, you need a guitar with a tremolo bridge, like the Affinity Strat. if you do not want a whammy bar, then it would be a good choice (of only these 2).
The Squier Affinity is a Strat that comes with a tremolo bridge. I believe the Affinity is available in either the 3 single coil pickup configuration or the 2 single coils with a humbucker in the bridge configuration.
Frankly the quality is comparable. Not a lot of difference quality wise. Considering the difference in the body styles and weight, the neck and the overall tone, these are what is really different between these guitars.
I suggest you play both to see which has the feel that is more comfortable in your hands and which as the tone you prefer.
