How Do I Fix My guitar strap knob?
I hvae tried screwing it back on but it keeps coming off. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Ok i got this new guitar a fender sonoran and the strap knob keeps coming off. Any ideas?
I am assuming that the screw hole is stripped?
See if you can get the screw out of the knob. If you can then go to a hardware store and try to find a similar one that is one size larger than the screw that came in it. Should be fine after that. And don't buy a freakin' box of drywall screws or anything like that. There sould be a section in the store where they have a lot of bins of different sized nuts and bolts and screws, you should be able to just buy one.
Another route would be to use the screw thats already in the nut, take a toothpick and some wood glue, use the toothpick to get as much glue in the screw hole in the guitar as possible, then coat the threads of the screw with it too, thread the screw back into the hole until its just snug, and then let it sit for a day or so. make sure you clean up any excess glue that oozes out.
If all else fails take it to a guitar shop and they should be able to fix you up without spending too much.
