Sony Home Theater System Sound Delay?
I have a Sony DAVDZ170 Home Theater System. I have a Playstation 3 hooked up to my TV via HDMI, and an optical digital cable from the TV to the theater system receiver. I get full surround sound, but there is a slight delay. The sound is just less than a half a second behind the TV. If I use the TV speakers in addition to the external speakers, there is very slight echo. For example, if in the game I shoot a gun, then a half a second later I hear the gun shot.
On the receiver settings, I have set the distance from the speakers as short as possible, and there is still delay. The receiver's "auto calibration" with built in microphone makes no difference either. I have tried turning "Game Mode" on the TV on and off but it makes no difference.
How can I get rid of the sound delay?
Connect optical cable directly from PS3 to Home Theater system for audio.
