White or Stanless Steel?
I need opinions. I have a 11 X 12 kitchen. Redoing myself. Cabinets are now white with nickle knobs. Light green walls and white trim. counter is formica looks like butcher block. Off white tile floor with tones that match the counter. Small kitchen. I just don' t know whether to get stanless steel appliances or white. I need a new fridge and range. The range also has a vent hood. I can not decide if stanless will make the kitchen look smaller or if white will be too much white. I really need opinions. thank you
Is stanless steel really difficult to keep clean and neat looking?
It comes down to six of one and half a dozen of the other.
All other things being equal what would your preference be?
That is an interesting comment others have made about the stainless showing fingerprints and smudges, so if you have children (or even adults who stand with the refrigerator door open as they decide what to eat) around I would suggest going with the white.
Someone made the comment that the stainless reflects light so that is something to keep in mind. If you have a skylight or any windows in your kitchen then it won't leave you feeling cramped.
If you do like the stainless, I've been hearing commercials for an appliance store that is giving a free stainless upgrade on all appliances with 18 months 0% finance charge.

If stainless is your preference but you are concerned about keeping it clean, I suggest that you go to an appliance store to ask for a demonstration. Try putting hand lotion on your hands and then touching. If the sales people get upset with you for doing that it just might be a good indication of cleanability.
