I have a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT and when I get the rpm's up to 3000 or higher in any of my first 3 gears?
it backfires. Sounds when its popping when it backfires its right in the catalytic converter. Has had tune up and I run the required 91+ octane in it. It had a partial rebuild done 4 months ago because the bearings and other parts of the lower end. Has 73,000 mi on it.
Does it misfire or is it just like hitting a brick wall as far as acceleration. Just get it scanned at autozone get the codes and then take it to a mechanic or do it yourself. Busted cat can be a bunch of different codes, usually cost about 200 installed depending on who you get to do it. Or just change the downpipe altogether.
